Valeo Service, the aftermarket branch of the global automotive group, has selected Kuehne + Nagel for the management and execution of in-bound road logistics.
Shipments will come from the company’s European suppliers to its national distribution platforms in France, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain and Turkey.
K+N has implemented 43 milk runs for the collection of components from suppliers and multi-stop consolidation before dispatching to the distribution platforms.
The service will link some 105 internal and external suppliers; in total the network represents 283 point-to-point relations.
The system is centrally monitored by K+N from a control tower based in Orleans, France.
The process is underpinned by Logistar Transport, an IT system developed by K+N, and an e-booking web application allowing all suppliers to directly enter their transport orders into the system.
