Yorkshire haulier Ken Mallinson transport has added four new generation Mercedes Actros tractors with range-topping, flat-floored MegaSpace cabs to its fleet.
Ian Egan, Mallinson’s business development manager, said: “These Actros were specified with the big MegaSpace cab because they’ll be used primarily for long trunking runs. We look carefully at the nature of the work any new vehicles will be doing, and specify them accordingly. This explains why our next four Mercedes tractors, which will be on more local, multi-drop type duties, are Axor models with smaller cabs.”
The trucks are based at Mallinson’s new 2.5-acre site at Barugh Green, Barnsley. This depot represents a significant investment and provides the company with increased space in a very convenient location. As well as a large yard and storage facilities it has a vehicle maintenance unit which services the company’s fleet and also takes in work from other local operators.
