John McClelland, the founder and managing director of PDS International, has handed over responsibility of the company to his son David, after 15 years at the helm.
David McClelland joined the Wigan-based company in 2000 and has been commercial director for the past three years.
The company has recently expanded and now employs some 65 personnel and operates from three sites comprising more than half a million square feet of warehouse space.
David McClelland held roles with the BBC, UCI Cinemas and local government before joining the family business.
John McClelland will remain at PDS as a consultant to ensure a smooth handover and will also assist in developing the business.
He will continue in his capacity as managing director of MDI, an associated business of PDS.
