MLOG Logistics has completed a high-bay warehouse extension for stationery manufacturer Baier & Schneider.
The existing four-aisle warehouse, located in Heilbronn, Germany, has been extended to provide an additional 30 per cent storage space to handle an expanding product range of school and office supplies. It now includes some 22,000 pallet storage locations, representing an increase of more than 5,000.
MLOG was general contractor for the project including all building infrastructure work and expansion of the automated storage and retrieval system within the high-bay warehouse.
The extension was completed in several phases over a six-month period to avoid any disruption to Baier & Schneider’s operation at the site. Installation was carried out during non-working periods at the weekends and at night, as were all operations that could have interfered with the on-going operation of the original storage facility.
