Frozen food transport and storage company ACS&T has signed a further three-year contract with 3663 First for Foodservice, an extension of a long-standing relationship between the two companies.
Under the contract ACS&T will continue to provide a national consolidation service from its depot in Wolverhampton, which opened in 2008.
The service offers case consolidated distribution to all 3663’s 32 depots and allows the company’s suppliers to only pay for the proportion of pallet space they use, rather than by pallet for delivery of stock.
Either suppliers deliver or ACS&T collect stock into the store, which is then visible to the 3663 depots through the ACS&T real-time web-based stock management system.
The depots can then order stock lines in the exact quantities required to fulfil orders.
Automated notification of deliveries are then sent to suppliers to generate invoicing.
ACS&T began running the service from its Grimsby depot with a few suppliers in 1994 and now works with more than 110 suppliers and 1,500 product lines.
