Deutsche Post DHL has ordered 1,800 new Euro 5 trucks from Volvo, which will be delivered to the UK, Finland and Sweden over the next two years.
The trucks will be used primarily to cover express, freight and supply chain operations, and will gradually replace the current Euro 3 fleet.
Rainer Wend, director of corporate public policy and responsibility at Deutsche Post DHL, said: “The modernisation of our fleet is an important part of our GoGreen climate protection programme. By deploying new vehicles, we are satisfying Europe-wide standards and will be able to further protect the environment.”
