Kimberly-Clark Europe has signed a long-term contract with SmartWay Logistics for transport management services.
SmartWay Logistics will manage more than 70,000 European intercompany full truckload shipments, cross border full truckload customer deliveries, and domestic customer deliveries in France and Poland.
Additionally, the company will be responsible for selecting and managing hauliers and providing logistics administration support.
Historically, Kimberly-Clark managed this portion of its freight using an in-house freight management team based at its European Shared Service Centre.
Peter Surtees (pictured), director of European consumer logistics, for Kimberly-Clark Europe, said: “With SmartWay Logistics driving operational and system synergies we have seen a reduction in empty running which benefits include lower transport costs and carbon emissions.”
