Ryder Europe is adding 613 replacement vehicles to its 2,000-strong fleet, in a deal worth £18 million.
The Euro 5 vehicles will include Mercedes Benz Sprinter 313 panel vans, Luton tail lifts and fridges, and several DAF 7.5-tonne box tail lifts, 7.5-tonne fridges, 12-tonne box tail lifts, 18-tonne box tail lifts and curtain-side tail lifts and 44-tonne tractor units.
The commercial vehicle rental company will also introduce 30 12-tonne box tail lifts to the fleet, in response to customer demand for improved payloads, particularly for urban deliveries.
The vehicles feature air deflectors as standard, and lightweight panels on the Luton and 7.5-tonne box bodied vehicles, designed to improve efficiency and payload.
In addition, Ryder has introduced tractor units with space cabs, air conditioning and automatic gearboxes.
