Five senior consultants join Total Logistics
Total Logistics has hired five full time senior consultants in response to demand in transport network development, inventory management and supply chain optimisation.
Jon Porter, Ian Kendell, Stuart Parsons, Craig Ryder and Paul Pouwels are now senior consultants.
Jon Porter has some 20 years experience in supply chain management in the UK, Africa, Belgium, Netherlands, Thailand and Australia, with Crown Agents and DHL/Exel.
Ian Kendell has a Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield School of Management as well as 18 years’ industrial experience of the materials handling industry, with Daifuku, Chep and as Managing Director of Container Centralen UK
Stuart Parsons has more than five years experience in the retail supply chain. He joins from Comet where he was supply chain planning manager.
Craig Ryder has also joined as a senior consultant specialising in contract logistics and distribution network design. He has previously worked for Norbert Dentressangle, Morrisons and most recently Kuehne + Nagel, in a variety of transport, warehouse and business development roles.
Paul Pouwels will be based in the Netherlands and his previous roles were in the fashion and automotive sectors at the Ewals Cargo Care.
Ceva promotes Ferrari and Yabar in Greece and Iberia
Ceva has made Marcello Ferrari its managing director for Greece, and Juan José Yabar its contract logistics operations manager for Spain and Portugal.
Ferrari has a decade of experience within Ceva, and has worked in Brazil, Italy and Poland. Most recently he was operations director in Brazil and will bring international management expertise to the Greek team.
Yabar has seven years of experience within the logistics sector and previously worked for a food supply company, leading operations both in Spain and internationally.
New head of ocean carrier management for Damco
Søren Bülow Andersen has become Damco’s head of ocean carrier management for Europe, Mediterranean and Africa.
He will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark and report to the new global head of oceanfreight, Diederick de Vroet.
A Danish national, Søren has some 25 years of experience working for Damco, and has been in the logistics and shipping business across Australia, Ghana and Denmark.
Thorley joins Navman
David Thorley has joined vehicle tracking company Navman Wireless as global refrigeration specialist.
He has some 30 years experience in temperature monitoring and control, and has been sales director at Transcan.
Thorley will be developing telematics tech for temperature controlled distribution, and will also liaise with customers.
Prager elected chief of Envirotainer
Niklas Prager, chairman of the board at Envirotainer, has been elected as the company’s new chief executoive officer. He succeeds Thomas Persson, who will remain with the company as senior advisor.
Prager’s background is in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries, including executive positions at MSD and Pfizer.
Envirotainer offers leases shipping containers for temperature-sensitive products.
