Inside Track, part of DHL Supply Chain that provides automotive test drives, has implemented personal digital assistant technology to enhance customer experience.
The day before a scheduled test-drive, customers receive a reminder email of the vehicle’s expected delivery time. On the day, customers can track their vehicle online with the PDA’s real-time vehicle positioning, and an SMS alert is sent advising the end user of the vehicle’s imminent arrival.
During the vehicle’s inspection following the test-drive, schematics are displayed on the PDA, and any damage can be identified and annotated directly onscreen. The PDA’s inbuilt camera can verify any damage.
