EGR cements truck deal for Lafarge

Cement and building materials producer Lafarge has taken delivery of 29 new MAN 44 tonne tractor units.

This together with an earlier fleet deal means that 40 per cent of its vehicles are MANs. The company reckons that MAN’s EGR technology offers payload benefit not realised with alternative SCR vehicles using AdBlue.

Transport manager Andrew Brodley said: “Payload is critical for us, and the saving of almost a quarter of a tonne per truck with MAN’s EGR engines equates to a significant productivity increase and reduction in CO2 emissions.”
