The University of Huddersfield has become the first UK university to incorporate the Fresh Connection supply chain strategy game into its logistics degree programmes.
Scala Consulting provided a dedicated version of the game for 75 final year undergraduate and ten postgraduates as part of a final year module.
The winners were local students Ross Skevington, Graeme Morrell, Mubeen Umerji and Tom Murray, and second and third place went to teams of international students from Denmark and China.
David Leach, a senior lecturer at the university said: “The Fresh Connection has been a really valuable addition to our final year programme, enabling students to experiment with supply chain theory and techniques developed during their studies.
“A key benefit has been helping students further understand the relationship between supply chain strategy, corporate strategy and the financial performance of a business.”
