Young’s Seafood has awarded frozen logistics firm ACS&T Logistics a new contract to provide storage, picking and distribution services.
ACS&T is connected to Young’s ordering system via an electronic data interchange link. Information on orders and stock levels are shared between the systems, with orders passed directly to ACS&T in real time.
Daily stock reconciliations are also sent back to Young’s to ensure that sufficient stock levels are maintained. This helps to streamline the ordering process and increase accuracy by reducing manual ordering errors.
Scott Barker, UK distribution manager for Young’s said: “We have worked with ACS&T since the 1990s, and have extended the contract because they have proved to be dependable and reliable logistics partners throughout our working relationship.”
ACS&T operates from four centres in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough. It has 12 cold stores, 3 ambient stores, comprehensive co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared user multi-temp transport fleets.
