Parcel specialist Global Freight Solutions is urging consumers to do their online Christmas shopping early to avoid weather related delays, which resulted in over four million undeliverable parcels last year.
According to GFS’s research, the effects of historically heavy snow on parcel traffic were compounded by increased online sales.
Director, Simon Veale said: “Carriers have adopted contingency plans with even heavy snow in mind but the uncertainty about both the weather and the numbers of items which may need to be moved means shopping early is the simplest and most effective course of action.”
