Logistics provider Dachser says it intends to intensify its driver training and recruiting initiatives in the coming year.
It has created 1,700 new jobs in the course of this year, bringing the company’s total number of employees to just under 21,000. For 2012, Dachser is planning to create new jobs despite a weakening economic environment.
Bernhard Simon, head of the Dachser management board, said: “While everyone is talking these days about the shortage of skilled specialists and executives, we are finding it increasingly difficult to fill vacant operational positions.” Simon anticipates that this could become a problem in future.
“The mission to recruit and retain qualified people is part of our long-term strategic orientation – even when the going gets tough,” he said.
