The recent cold weather has been driving sales at a newly opened salt distribution centre operated by workplace equipment provider Slingsby.
The salt distribution centre and bagging plant enables the company to provide next day delivery anywhere in the UK on salt, rock salt and grit in quantities ranging from 5kg to one tonne bags.
In the last two weeks Slingsby has made hundreds of deliveries of salt throughout the UK and has numerous customers, from both the commercial and domestic markets.
Marketing director Lee Wright said: “In recent years there have been major salt shortages. This facility enables us to stockpile and process all quantities of salt and we’re currently supplying it to a wide range of customers including private homeowners, hospitals, retailers, schools, factories, the public sector and any other organisations that have car parks, walkways and outdoor areas.”
