UPS was rated the “World’s Most Admired” company in its industry in an annual survey conducted by American magazine “Fortune”, while FedEx was placed sixth in the list.
Within the delivery industry, UPS was first in four of the nine judging categories, including use of corporate assets, quality of management, financial soundness and long-term investment. It has been ranked No. 1 in its industry in 27 of the 31 “Most Admired” surveys.
FedEx had moved up two placed since last year.
To compile its list of America’s most admired companies, “Fortune” worked with the Hay Group consultancy to poll senior executives, directors and analysts, compiling data from approximately 1,400 companies.
