Gefco is opening a subsidiary in Sofia, Bulgaria in order to strengthen its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, and to act as a gateway between Western Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.
GEFCO Bulgaria will be led by Aleksander Raczynski. He said: “Located between the Romanian and Turkish subsidiaries, GEFCO Bulgaria facilitates close cooperation between these countries and promotes commercial traffic heading towards Europe.”
The firm already has an automotive centre in Lozen, south-east of Sofia, where vehicles are grouped together before being distributed. Customers include Citroën, Volkswagen, General Motors and Peugeot’s official importer Sofia France Auto.
At the beginning of April, GEFCO Bulgaria and GEFCO Germany jointly launched a new groupage line between Sofia and Stuttgart.
