Organic dairy co-operative OMSCO has awarded a three year contract to specialised logistics company S J Bargh.
Under the deal some 50 million litres of milk per year will be collected from organic farms in central England, North Wales, Lancashire and parts of Yorkshire. The Lancaster firm will operate this contract from its Endon depot near Stoke-On-Trent.
Bargh already collects and delivers over 3 million litres of milk per day, 365 days a year. It said the contract required careful planning as the organic farms were rare and spread over a large area.
