The British International Freight Association says new US regulations for screening cargo should have no effect on UK businesses, as the existing screening regime in the UK already meets the new US requirements.
The United States Transport Security Administration has set a deadline of 3rd December for passenger air carriers to conduct 100 per cent cargo screening on international flights bound for the United States.
However, said BIFA, the UK’s existing screening regime met US requirements for 100 per cent screening.
“In effect, therefore, it will be business as usual for us from the deadline date.”
