Neal Austin, Morrisons’ logistics and supply chain director, has been appointed to the supervisory board of GS1 UK, the supply chain standards organisation.
As a member of the supervisory board, he will be responsible for helping to set the strategic direction of the organisation. James Spittle, chairman, GS1 UK, said: “His industry knowledge and experience will be invaluable in helping us continue to deliver supply chain standards and consultancy services that make it faster, cheaper and safer for our members to serve their customers. We look forward to working with him in the months ahead.”
Austin has extensive retail experience, from supply chain and logistics to buying and store development. He said: “I witness the efficiencies that GS1 standards and solutions drive daily. I am delighted to be invited to sit on the supervisory board and I look forward to being part of the team that helps GS1 UK to achieve its goals for the benefit of the wider membership.”
