DBL Logistics is investing £2m in a 33,500 sq ft distribution centre in Sheffield and adding ten vehicles to its fleet.
The company bought the 2.25 acre site on Tinsley Park Road from Sheffield City Council. It expects to expand its warehouse capacity from 1,500 pallets space to around 6,000.
Phase two will see a further 16,500sqft added by May 2014 increasing pallets space to around 9,000.
Managing director David Clarkson said: “”We are currently working at maximum capacity from our existing site and customer demand is increasing. We therefore needed to expand our facilities to meet this need in the market and grow the business further.”
DBL, which is a member of United Pallet Network (UPN) received a £1.8million finance package from HSBC Bank to support the development.
