TNT Express has appointed Tex Gunning chief executive officer. He takes over on 1st June when Bernard Bot, currently interim CEO, will revert to chief financial officer.
Tex Gunning is currently a director of AkzoNobel with responsibility for decorative paints. He played a key role in the integration of ICI’s paint business and also oversaw the turnaround of decorative paints in North America.
“Tex’s extensive business experience and track record in successfully turning around businesses and delivering results make him the ideal candidate in this critical time for the company,” said Antony Burgmans, chairman of TNT’s supervisory board.
“He is also an inspiring leader and we look forward to Tex stepping into his new role and helping the company realise its improvement plans. The combination of Tex and Bernard is an ideal Executive Board. I also want to recognise Bernard’s and Jeroen’s enormous contributions over the past months and their commitment to support the company going forward.”
Jeroen Seyger, currently interim CFO, will continue in a senior finance function in the company.
The moves follow the resignation of CEO Marie-Christine Lombard in September, who moved to become chief executive officer of Geodis, the logistics business of French rail operator SNCF.
