UPS has appointed Jim Barber to take over as president of UPS International from Dan Brutto, who retires at the end of April.
Barber, who is currently president of UPS Europe, will join UPS’s Management Committee, comprised of the company’s 10 most senior executives.
Barber joined UPS in 1985 and served in key operational and financial positions, including president of the UK & Ireland district, and chief operating officer for UPS Europe where he was responsible for the business performance across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), as well as the region’s sophisticated air and ground transport network. In his current role he is responsible for all UPS operations in more than 120 EMEA countries and territories.
Brutto retires afer five and half years in the role. “Dan is the epitome of a global leader who understands what it takes to be successful on the world stage,” said UPS chairman and CEO Scott Davis. “He sets a strategy and then enables people to get large ideas accomplished. Dan’s contributions will have a lasting impact on future generations of UPSers and we are grateful for his dedication.”
