Formula One has extended its global deal with DHL as its official logistics provider.
Under the deal DHL will provide services such as express, ocean and air freight, customs brokerage and specialist handling at race circuits. The firm will handle shipping diverse, sensitive and high value items such as race cars, components, broadcast equipment and fuel to over 19 race locations across five continents on time for each race.
Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One Group chief executive, said: “We have a longstanding operational and commercial relationship with DHL, and we are more than happy to have DHL as one of our global brands again, who are dedicated to delivering exceptional quality.
“As Official Logistics partner, DHL continues to play an important role in Formula One, and they in turn will benefit immensely from the opportunity to showcase their brand to one of the most committed and passionate global fan bases of any sport.”
DHL will also continue to sponsor the Fastest Lap Award for the driver with the highest number of fastest laps throughout each world championship season.
