Potter Logistics has bought two Fuso Eco Canter Hybrid eco-friendly 7.5 tonne lorries.
The two vehicles will be based at Potter’s York distribution centre and will be used exclusively for Palletline operations in and around the city centre.
“The 7.5 tonne vehicles offer us a 23 per cent fuel saving which is not only financially good news for us, but also means that we are considerably reducing our CO2 emissions”, said Nick Brightey, general manager of Potter Logistics’ transport division and York facility.
The trucks can carry 1.2 tonnes more than the average weight per load of other vehicles their size.
“With the ability to fit more goods into one load, it means we can deliver additional pallets every trip which again, is better economically,” added Brightey.
