John Lewis has completed the roll-out of its click and collect service with CollectPlus, enabling customers to collect online purchases from one of 5,500 local shops.
Trials of the scheme started in September last year. During the trial period CollectPlus handled more than 18,000 click and collect parcels, the service will now be available to all John Lewis customers nationwide. The service will cost customers 3 and will typically be delivered to their store of choice the next day.
The partnership between John Lewis and CollectPlus extends the retailers in-store click and collect service.
Paul Scratchley, commercial director at CollectPlus, said: Todays shoppers are not always able to wait in at home for deliveries; and for those that live in more rural areas and smaller towns, even collection from the retailers store can be difficult. The roll-out of this service with John Lewis is a great example of how people in less populous areas of the country can still enjoy the same choice and convenience as those based in cities.
