Corus’ Teesside Cast Products has entered into a 10-year productivity partnership with PD Teesport to export three million tonnes of its steel slab per year. Both businesses have invested heavily in new working practices, as well as introducing new technology to ensure high performance in handling and dispatch.
Corus has also invested in a new rail link, taking slab straight from the yard to the port. The link is under cons-truction as part of a £40m scheme announced in February.
