Police officers from the Northamptonshire Constabulary recently visited NYK Logistics’ Warsaw facility in Poland.
PC Stuart Wilkins and DC Penny Murphy, both travelled to Poland with NYK’s security manager, Howard Smith to discuss ways to improve security with their Eastern European counterparts.
PC Wilkins said: “It was good to hear from people working in the industry in Eastern Europe about the issues that shape their working practices and to discuss ways to improve their security.
In Northamptonshire, the police have established a good working relationship all along the M1 corridor, with a newly established action plan and early warning system to alert each other to suspicious activity around parked trucks and to co-operate if an incident occurs.
