Ryder is celebrating 35 years operating in the UK market. Ryder established a truck rental business in the UK, in August 1971, with 250 highly specialised Bedford, Ford and Commer-Dodge vehicles with a distinct yellow livery.
This was followed by the acquisition of Fisher Renwick a year later to take it into the then fledgling Contract Hire business.
Today, Ryder has a turnover of £193.1 million, 1,700 employees, 15,800 vehicles, operating from 27 fleet management locations and 34 logistics operating centres across the UK and Europe.
