Quentin Rappoport, has been named BIFA’s new director-general designate. He will take up the role on the 21 August 2006 overlapping with Colin Beaumont, who retires from the role later this year.
Rappoport has spent seven years as chief executive of the Wines and Spirits Association where he undertook a substantial modernisation process and raised its political profile. More recently Rappoport has been director of communication and public affairs at the National Autistic Society.
Having graduated from Cambridge, Rappoport’s career led him through a series of roles, ranging from research projects to senior public affairs advisor, including a period of two years at the CBI as head of special projects.
