Argos is expanding operations its 500,000 sq ft Wincanton operated site distribution centre at Max Park in Corby as a result of the relocation of its Wolverhampton operation along with the growth in the successful growth of the Argos Extra product range and the expansion of Argos’ direct importing operation. Some 200 new staff are being recruited on top of the 450 that already work at the site.
The Corby site, which opened in early 2006, receives stock from domestic suppliers and despatches the Argos Extra lines directly to nearly 200 stores and uses Argos’ existing regional distribution centres to deliver to the remaining stores within the network.
