Fraikin has invested more than £60,000 in building a mobile training unit which will tour the country providing training to customers and staff on a wide range of industry issues from Euro four and five to recent compulsory driver training legislation.
It will provide induction courses for new drivers, with training on topics such as working and downloading data from a digital tachograph, AdBlue usage and safe tail-lift operation. Certification will be provided on successful completion of the training modules.
The vehicle will be on the road five days a week and will be manned by fulltime driver and instructor Tim Williams.
The Eurocargo is expected to remain on the fleet indefinitely according to operations director Mark Newnes, who will head the project at Fraikin. He says: “The amount of legislation in our industry continues to rise, therefore it’s important to ensure customers fully understand the new technology and regulations, and by bringing the training directly to them, it really couldn’t be easier.”
