Wincanton has claimed market leadership in the two man home delivery market, seven months after taking over Lane Group.
The company says it has made improvements in quality and flexibility of service to retailers and their customers, giving it a 98.5 per cent record of successful deliveries – as compared to the industry norm of around 97 per cent.
Wincanton has introduced a choice of delivery times, including evenings and weekends, enabling retailers to give shoppers greater choice about how and when they receive their orders – and cutting customer waiting time to a minimum. This can be critical for the 50 per cent of households that are unoccupied during normal working hours, and for those sending goods that must arrive by a specific time.
