,

Toyota says it will take several months for production to get back to normal following the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In Japan, depending on vehicle model, normalisation of production is expected to start in July, with normalisation completing around November or December.

Outside Japan, depending on region and vehicle model, normalization of production is expected to start in August, with normalisation completing around November or December.

* Nissan is planning higher levels of production in May to recover delays in April’s production volumes.

It said that production volume in April was expected to be slightly above 40 per cent of the actual production volume in April last year.

“To recover delays in April’s production, Nissan is planning to operate at levels higher than planned, and we are requesting suppliers to deliver parts accordingly.

However, it warned that actual production would depend on the actual delivery of parts. “We are confirming this on a daily basis.”
