Vauxhall Motors agreed a three-year extension to its Norbert Dentressangle contract for overnight distribution of automotive parts to some 300 UK Vauxhall and Chevrolet retailers.
Under the contract, Norbert collects orders from Vauxhall’s Parts distribution centre in Luton for overnight delivery to retailers via its national shared-user network. This allows parts ordered by 6pm to be delivered before dealerships open at 8am the following day.
Added value services include returns sortation and management, waste management, outbound loading, yard services and on site shunting.
Peter Durham, warehouse operations manager at Vauxhall Motors, said: “Norbert Dentressangle provides us with a flexible and proven transport solution that enables us to maintain a high level of service to our retailers. This combined with the a range of added value site services means we will continue to benefit from a reliable and cost effective parts distribution operation.”
Norbert has provided Vauxhall with aftersales parts distribution for over 12 years. It has invested £1 million in 35 new trailers to support the contract.
