Going fast: delegate places at Extended Supply Chain

Places are filling up fast at the Extended Supply Chain conference which takes place in London next week.

Delegate bookings are well up on last year, said events chief Dan Stone, and time is running out to secure places.

A key feature of this year’s conference is a series of presentations by winners of European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.

Danone Baby Nutrition, overall winner of 2012 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards, will be sharing the secrets of its success at the Extended Supply Chain conference in London in March.

The business has seen double digit growth in recent years and needed to ensure that their supply chain was able to meet the escalating demands of their customers.

Rebecca Spittle, head of customer supply chain, and Trina Curry, supply chain development manager, will explain how the company implemented a three tier approach; People, Process and Performance, creating an innovative supply chain that is agile, open to change and able to meet the changing demands of the consumer.

Another award winner appearing at the conference is JCB, which took the award in the Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial category.

Rapid expansion over recent years had placed pressure on global supply chains, resulting in increased logistics costs and declining operational performance. JCB initiated a structural review of its global supply chain and identified that it required more control, better visibility and total cost management to support sustainable growth.

Environmental issues are critical in the retail sector. SPAR UK, winner of the award for Contribution to Environmental Improvement, Climate Change, will explain its strategy to deliver the strongest and least carbon intensive supply chain in the convenience and wholesale market, making the business more sustainable and future-proofing against rising electricity and fuel costs.

Extended Supply Chain 2013 takes place at the Radission Blu Portman Hotel in London from 12-13 March 2013.
