Sainsbury’s extends relationship with Kewill

Sainsbury’s has extended its relationship with Kewill Systems, the supply chain execution solutions provider. The new contract will extend the deployment of Kewill Trade across all remaining Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) suppliers effectively providing Sainsbury’s with a 100% electronic trading environment across its trading partners in the sectors.

The contract builds on Kewill’s existing relationship with Sainsbury’s whereby GFR and GNFR suppliers have been electronically enabled via Kewill Trade, an Internet based order management solution.

‘Kewill Trade is continuing to help us reduce the time consuming and resource intensive administration processes as invoices are re-keyed’, explains John Green, Head of Procurement, at Sainsbury’s. ‘The system enables us to streamline our business and system processes and reduce inaccuracies and delays in order fulfilment thereby increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations. Sainsbury’s has experienced significant cost savings in its GFR and GNFR supply chain operations for a number of years through the use of the Kewill Trade solution and this extension will deliver a further level of benefit over the 3 year contract period.’

Jacquie Boast, managing director of Kewill Solutions Europe, says: “We have worked closely with Sainsbury’s over recent years growing from a provider of EDI systems to their suppliers to a strategic partner within their supply chain. Today our business with Sainsbury’s is about delivering sophisticated internet based solutions which enable their suppliers to trade electronically and provide vital supply chain information back to Sainsbury’s in a timely manner, in order that they can make informed business decisions. We are delighted that Sainsbury’s has decided to grow its relationship with Kewill affirming the confidence and respect that Kewill has within the UK retail sector.”
