Home Delivery Network has acquired G&M Distribution for an undisclosed sum.
G&M, which has acted as HDN’s sub-contractor for two man home delivery operations in Scotland for a number of years, will continue to operate under the same name.
HDN has invested in new transport scheduling systems and hand-held technology allowing it customers to choose a timed delivery at point of order and for clients to be able to track the progress of orders in real time to point of delivery.
This technology will now be deployed in Scotland following the acquisition.
Brian Gaunt, chief executive of HDN, said: “We are delighted to have concluded the acquisition of a business which is performing well and acquiring new clients. The addition of HDN systems post acquisition will allow us to provide the highest levels of service to our clients sending product into Scotland as well as providing an improved route to market for Scottish businesses sending product south.”
