What’s the quickest way from Poland to Turkey? Well, it seems that you have to start by going in the opposite direction – to Berlin. I have it on the authority of Evolution Time Critical which did just that and saved a car maker two million euros. The task was to deliver replacements for some faulty car parts in time to prevent the assembly line grinding to a halt. A direct charter flight would have been the obvious option, but new Turkish legislation meant that this could not be arranged in time. Instead a flight was chartered from Wroclaw in Poland to Berlin from where a scheduled flight was able to carry the parts to Turkey. Even that is not the end of the story – it still took a fleet of taxis to complete the final leg of the journey and get the parts to the manufacturers assembly line in time.
