Invest in Doncaster – that’s the message from the government-run organisation of the same name.
Invest in Doncaster provides support for companies who wish to relocate to, or expand within Doncaster.
Companies assisted by the team range from small local businesses to larger inward investors, and include both indigenous Doncaster companies and businesses wishing to locate within the borough.
Invest in Doncaster is a partner in the South Yorkshire Sector Growth Enhancement Programme that is part-financed by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund.
It promotes the “excellent road, rail and air links, first class sites, a flexible workforce and the best broadband infrastructure in the UK” which it reckons makes Doncaster the ideal location for retail and manufacturing distribution centres.
Doncaster has plans to develop seven million square feet of distribution facilities with the development of a rail-connected Inland Port with customs clearance and bonded warehouses.
It is also home to Robin Hood Airport, which has a runway capable of handling the largest commercial freightliner aircraft, the Antonov 124.
