Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance has been awarded for ISO 28000 certification by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
The certification is for security management systems for the supply chain, and was developed by ISO in response to demand from industry for a standard to improve the security of supply chains.
Steve Williams, LRQA deputy technical director, said. “Most organisations rely in some way on the supply chain to ensure business continuity and are vulnerable if supplies are interrupted. LRQA is delighted to be the first UKAS accredited certification body for ISO 28000; this standard supports a risk-management approach to security and provides organisations with a foundation on which to build other complementary initiative.”
