Slingsby is investing in a new salt distribution centre and bagging plant in order to meet demand as increasing numbers of workplaces stock-pile salt to reduce the disruption caused by winter weather.
The new facility enables Slingsby to provide next day delivery anywhere in the UK. An area at the company’s headquarters at Baildon in West Yorkshire has been reinforced with concrete in order to store large quantities of bagged salt and three loading bays have been built to separate the raw materials, along with a state of the art bagging plant housing the latest machinery.
Marketing director Lee Wright said: “Every winter there’s a shortage of salt so increasing numbers of workplaces are now choosing to buy it early which makes sense because it’s cost effective and can be stored for long periods of time.”
