Corrugated packaging manufacturer W E Roberts has taken delivery of four Mitsubishi 2.0 tonne Grendia diesel counterbalance trucks to maintain production in line with growth.
The firm says it has had to keep its fleet running 24 hours a day, six days per week as its business has grown by 150 per cent over the last three years.
Financial director Richard Puffette said: “Our old trucks just couldn’t meet the challenge. In their last three months on site, there wasn’t a day that all of our trucks were in action… Since the new trucks were introduced, both efficiency and throughput have increased.”
Special filters and covers from the Mitsubishi Dust-Plus Protection Package have been fitted to safeguard the engine and other systems from dust and particles generated by the manufacture of corrugated cardboard.
The trucks also have oil-cooled disc brakes, automatic deceleration, controlled power reversal and smooth start, a system which prevents wheelspins.
