Gist has added 20 lifting floor, double-deck, 44-pallet trailers to its temperature-controlled fleet, which the company says offer a ten per cent increase in pallet carrying capacity compared to a standard 13.6m double-decker.
Martin Gwynn, chief executive at Gist said: “We are always looking at ways to improve productivity, cut costs and reduce the impact of our operation on the environment.
“With our primary business growing, these vehicles will be a great asset to our existing fleet.”
Tailored to meet Gist’s requirements, the vehicles are fitted with 445/45 R.19.5 tyres widening the track, with the aim of creating greater stability and reduce tyre wear.
