Theo de Pencier has been appointed chief executive of the Freight Transport Association taking over from Richard Turner in July. He is currently chief executive of Bibby Distribution and a director of Bibby Line Group. He has over twenty years’ board level experience in the logistics industry, working for NFC and Danzas before joining Bibby in 1999.
De Pencier has been a member of the board of directors of the Road Haulage Association for the past 18 months but he will have to give this up before he starts at the FTA. Roger King, chief executive of the RHA said: “We are delighted that the FTA has chosen an RHA director to be its next chief executive.”
FTA president John Russell said: “Theo has an excellent record of achievement within the industry and we are excited at the prospect of adding these skills to the FTA team.”
De Pencier said: “The opportunity to join FTA and develop further its industry leadership . . . was too good to miss.”
