Grantham Book Services is moving its entire distribution and client services to a 350,000 sq ft distribution centre in Grantham previously occupied by TDG.
The company currently distributes 18m books a year on behalf of 40 independent publishers. It said the move was prompted by an extended period of growth, with its client base up 25 per cent over the past 12 months.
A project team has been appointed to manage the transfer to the new site, and consultations have begun with client publishers. GBS said the transfer of client stock would be managed on a phased basis, and there would be a period of dual running of both sites to ensure a smooth transition. The move is expected to be completed by September 2008.
