The finalists have now been selected for the 10th anniversary year of The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards. And an impressive list of contenders it is too – see the list opposite. The judges were delighted with the high calibre of entries this year, which makes the task of judging all that more difficult. The next stage of the judging process – and one which elevates these Awards above all others – is already underway with site visits by members of the judging panel scheduled to take place through September and into early October.
Results from the adjudicators’ visits to every finalist, wherever they are based in Europe, will be reported back to the judging round table in the middle of October. At this meeting, the final decisions will be made as to which companies will be stepping up to receive an Award. Previous winners have included: Dell, Cisco Systems, Ciba Vision, Johnson & Johnson, O2, NHS Logistics Authority, Computacenter, Sara Lee, Coca Cola, Argos, GlaxoSmithKline, Rexam Beverage Can Europe, Marks & Spencer, British Airways World Cargo, Jungheinrich, Diagio, Jaguar, Scottish Courage, Alcatel, Goodyear Dunlop, Nissan… and soon to be joined by some of our shortlist opposite.
We have included a number of new categories this year – Project Management, Environmental Improvement and Individual Contribution. But the highlight of the Awards evening will remain the announcement of the Overall Winner of The European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2006. Last year it was Rexam Beverage Can Europe. Who will it be this year? You’ll have to turn up and find out!
