Steve Cross, operations manager at Meir Park, Bibby Distribution’s new warehouse in North Staffordshire, has been named UKWA’s Warehouse Person of The Year 2006.
Cross is responsible for the entire warehouse operation including monitoring and controlling Health & Safety and site maintenance, at Bibby Route One, the specialist carrier division of Bibby Distribution,
During 2005, Bibby Route One underwent significant operational changes, including linking a major part of the business to Bibby Distribution’s pallet network as well as relocating from its previous site in Stoke to purpose-built facilities at Meir Park last December.
Kevin Brennan, general manager for Bibby Route One, said: “Steve’s performance within his role as operations manager has been excellent. He continually demonstrates his ability to remain calm and focused under all circumstances, and his commitment to the Bibby Route One operation is outstanding. We are proud and delighted that Steve has achieved this important accolade from UKWA, he certainly deserves the title, Warehouse person of The Year.”
