Impatex, the provider of Customs processing software, is starting a series of ten roadshows throughout the UK, designed to reassure customers concerned about their readiness for SAD Harmonisation (SAD H).
It decided to stage the roadshows in response to concerns expressed by a number of its users, following statements in the press suggesting that nobody will be ready for the new regime when it goes live on 1st July.
Managing director Peter Day said: “SAD H should be a fairly straightforward migration involving changes to some of the existing codes in the Single Administrative Document (SAD)tariff codes, which will require some updates to software systems like ours, and will require users to familiarise themselves with the new codes headings. We were involved in the successful negotiation of a three-month dual-running period, which means if there are any problems when SAD H goes live, users will still be able to switch back to the old system while the problems are rectified.”
The Impatex roadshows start on May 14 and are open to existing customers and anyone else who may be concerned that their own system will not be ready in time.
